Our story
Vanguard 86 is an all-in-one digital marketing agency. With a focus on results through strategy and collaboration, we empower our clients to grow their businesses with inbound marketing technology, award-winning support, and inspiring content.
Founded in 2015 at a dining room table in Taranaki, the business has since grown to support companies across Australia and New Zealand. The team includes experts in design, web development, Google Advertising, email marketing, and SEO.
As time has passed one thing has remained the same - the team's passion for results. Regardless of whether our clients sell number 8 wire or rocket fuel we look to communicate the only thing that makes a difference to the sale; trust. We're pretty confident that no matter how the digital landscape changes that's the message that will always need to be marketed.

Our team of digital marketers span over a dozen expertise areas. From Google Ads management to UX and copywriting for SEO we have built a team of experts for you to tap into, so you don't have to.
Founder and director of Vanguard 86 Thomas brings experience from international brands such as Honda and Aston Martin. He has been a strong advocate for inbound marketing as the future of digital lead generation and sales for over a decade.
Having earned over 20 HubSpot certifications, Lee is our most knowledgeable Hubspot user. Lee’s passion for people management, both internally and externally, ensures that Vanguard 86 continues to grow under her leadership.
An early career role working at Air New Zealand fed his passion for numbers. This has become instrumental in his work in search engine marketing. Rakesh is a Google Partner Specialist and expert in Google Ads.
Bruna is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience in digital and
traditional marketing across various sectors. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys hiking and
biking adventures with her kids. Her diverse marketing expertise, combined with her
passion for effective communication and team collaboration, enable her to deliver exceptional value to businesses across New Zealand and Australia.
Aimee is an experienced digital marketer with a strong background in CRM, lifecycle strategy, and campaign management. Most recently, she was ArchiPro’s Marketing Automation Specialist for Australia and New Zealand, where she led data-driven initiatives in HubSpot that increased subscriber engagement by 18% and re-engaged 4,000 contacts monthly. Aimee also managed regional EDM and SMS calendars. Prior to this, she was a Digital Marketing Specialist at KiwiPlates, driving success across social, email, and paid media, including a personalised email campaign that outperformed average click-through rates by 25%. Aimee brings strategic insight, creativity, and proven results to every campaign.
Dylan has years of practical, hands-on experience helping clients achieve results with search engine optimisation. His skills range from technical SEO and content marketing to site architecture, analytics, and more.
Hannah comes from a Campaign Management background at Trade Me, and has a strong knowledge of email marketing and automation. Hannah enjoys seeing clients' ideas come to life with targeted campaigns that get results.
From coding to coordinating, Bavani’s experience as a developer turned project manager spans nearly a decade. With a diverse background in managing digital projects across various industries, she’s dedicated to keeping projects on track and helping clients achieve their goals. When she’s not managing projects, she enjoys spending time with her children and fueling her creativity through her art business.
As the agency's lead designer Kate is responsible for maintaining client brand standards and design direction. Kate is instrumental in creating campaign assets, both for digital and print.
An extensive background in digital and print design has enabled Courtney to take her skills around the world, applying them to a diverse range of industries. From rebranding Cook & Bathe to designing retail assets for 100 Decjuba stores across Australia and New Zealand before finally working on the design team at San Diego Zoo, her journey has been varied and exciting.
As our in-house developer Joav is responsible for website creation on the HubSpot CMS.
Pocholo Legaspi is a skilled SEO copywriter with a strong track record of delivering content that ranks well without compromising on clarity or reader engagement. With experience spanning startups and global organisations, he combines data-led insights with a flair for persuasive writing. He has crafted high-performing blog and landing page content at Atlas Copco, and stays informed on the latest SEO trends, including the impact of AI on search to ensure written content stays relevant. Known for his adaptability, research ability, and collaborative approach, Pocholo brings both precision and creativity to every piece of content he produces.
